
Blended Learning
Level One or Two
Our Blended First Aid first aid coursed gives you the necessary skills to respond confidently in an emergency. You’ll complete the theory online at your own pace, then attend a face-to-face practical session focused on real-world application, scenario training, and NZQA assessment.
Level One - Course Overview
This course equips learners with the practical skills and confidence to respond effectively in an emergency. Training is delivered by experienced emergency responders and is grounded in realistic workplace and community scenarios.
Across the day, you will learn how to:

Perform basic life support (CPR)

Use an AED safely and effectively
-
Manage choking and airway obstructions
-
Control life-threatening bleeding
-
Treat burns, fractures, and soft-tissue injuries
-
Recognise and respond to medical emergencies such as shock, stroke, heart attack, seizures, and breathing difficulties
-
Maintain personal safety, scene safety, and team coordination during an incident
All learning is supported by instructor demonstration, guided practice, and hands-on assessment.
Once all requirements are met, learners are assessed against:
NZQA Skill Standards 41053 & 41052
Training follows the latest New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC) guidelines.

Level Two - Course Overview
This course builds on Level 1 Essential First Aid and extends into more detailed patient assessment, trauma management, medical emergencies, and multi-casualty response.
Training is delivered by experienced emergency responders and is grounded in practical, workplace-relevant scenarios.

Across the day, you will learn how to:

Perform basic and extended life support (CPR & AED)

Conduct full patient assessments and monitor casualties
-
Manage airway emergencies, choking, and breathing disorders
-
Control severe bleeding and manage wounds
-
Treat burns, fractures, dislocations, soft-tissue and crush injuries
-
Recognise and respond to medical emergencies including heart attack, stroke, seizures, diabetes, asthma, anaphylaxis, and shock
-
Manage environmental emergencies such as hypothermia, heat illness, and drowning
-
Maintain scene safety, manage hazards, and coordinate response
-
Support and manage multiple patients until help arrives
All learning is supported by instructor demonstration, guided practice, realistic scenarios, and hands-on assessment.
Once all requirements are met, learners are assessed against:
NZQA Unit Standards 6402, 6401 and 6401
Level 2 Comprehensive First Aid
Training follows the latest New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC) guidelines.
